Unpacking a Unique Natural Wine
Dark straw yellow in the glass. It almost looks a bit like pear juice. And voila, there it is: The nose is wonderfully "peary" too. Notes of ripe fruit and blossoms. A scent like a lush bouquet of flowers on a late summer evening. Honey, caramel candy and pear tart.
Spices, Herbs, and Sea Breeze in a Bottle
The nose is delicate, playful. Charmed. On the palate, it then shows itself to be surprisingly taut and compact. However, my initial surprise quickly gives way to a logical conclusion: The wine is absolutely harmonious and radiates pure joy. A good grip holds me tight, is both spicy and fresh at the same time. Like a mint candy in a herb shop. Alpine herbs, verbena, and linden blossoms flow with the sea breeze. The skin contact is good. Not too tight, just right for a fine tautness. At the same time, a delicate salt note also comes through, which reminds me of that Grenache Blanc.
A Grape Tale of Harmony
Grape varieties that are naturally developed often show themselves differently than the conventionally learned taste profiles. But here everything seems to fit. Perfectly balanced and well-crafted. For me, a wonderfully made natural wine. Perfect for an evening Pissaladière :). Thank you, Antje, for the wine. Thank you, Silke, for the inspiration.
