Rosso di Casa Romagnoli
And this despite the fact that at the first tasting, a great evening at Kühne Lage by the way, I initially dismissed the wine as closed, furry and completely not worth mentioning. That very evening, I changed my mind.
We unroll the map. We put our thumbs in the air and let them fly down in the direction of the big boot, correct slightly to the right to the wider part, latitude Florence, and see the coast of Ancona in front of us. Marche. A little further inland, Morro d'Alba, a small medieval town, at the gates of which lies Casa Romagnoli.
The winery's basic wine is made from Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Lacrima. The latter variety is even grown only within a 15km radius of Morro d'Alba.
So you can really cry with joy. This wine is fruity, with medium acidity and little tannin (furry, remember?), tastes of cherries and ripe plums and even a hint of flowers enters my brain stem.
And I'm still crying: 5.90 euros at Kühne Lage. Off we go, because the winery is so small that you can count the barrels in the cellar on one hand. Who knows if I haven't already bought everything before you.
